I grandi vitigni italiani - CROATINA

The great Italian vines - CROATINA

Croatina is a red grape variety grown in Lombardy. It is often used to produce full-bodied wines with flavors of cherries and spices; often blended with other grape varieties, such as Barbera, to create wines with a more complex taste profile. Some well-known wines produced with Croatina are the Bonarda dell'Oltrepò Pavese and the Oltrepo Pavese Croatina .
The grape is known for its ability to withstand colder climates and its resistance to fungal diseases. In recent years, the popularity of Croatina wines has increased and the grape is now also grown in other regions of Italy and in other countries, such as Argentina and Chile.
