I grandi vitigni italiani - BRACHETTO

The great Italian vines - BRACHETTO

Brachetto is a type of red wine grape that is grown primarily in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. It is known for producing fruity and sweet wines with rose and strawberry aromas. The grape has a high natural sugar content and is often used to make sparkling wines, such as Brachetto d'Acqui, which are known for their delicate bubbles and refreshing flavours. Among the other wines obtained from Brachetto are Brachetto Rosé and Brachetto Piemonte.

Brachetto wines should be served cool, at a temperature of around 8-12 degrees Celsius (45-55 degrees Fahrenheit). This helps bring out the fruity aromas and flavors of the wine and makes it more refreshing to drink. It is important not to over-chill the wine, as this can dull the flavors and aromas. Furthermore, it is advisable to let the wine rest for a few minutes after taking it out of the refrigerator, so that it warms up slightly and reaches the ideal serving temperature.

Brachetto wines are best paired with desserts or enjoyed on their own as a refreshing beverage. They can be paired with chocolate desserts, fruit tarts or even ice cream. Brachetto's fruity flavors also make it a good pairing with spicy dishes, as the sweetness can help balance out the heat. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif before a meal, or as a refresher for the palate between courses.
