The subzone of Inferno, with a name as singular as it is fascinating, refers to small terraces planted with vines, located between Poggiridenti and Tresivio, in rocky ravines that are not easy to reach. Portions of the slope where temperatures are particularly high in summer. Inferno is the smallest of the subdenominations, lies to the east of Grumello and has a vineyard area of 55 hectares. Grapes from the Inferno area yield a wine of character, suitable for long aging, with a ruby red color tending to garnet. With aging it acquires particular fragrances of dried rose and hazelnut. Its flavor is dry, austere, slightly tannic and at the same time velvety and harmonious.
