The Sassella area, worthy of special interest, is steep, well ventilated and very sunny. The tiny appezza men ti planted with vines are literally ripped out of the rock. Walking among these terraces, one has the distinct feeling of being in a totally special, almost magical environment; this is the only way to understand its designation. The heat forfeited by the rock during the day is yielded at sunset to the surrounding clusters, which thanks to this produce a rich and structured wine. The aroma is distinctive with hints of raspberry, small fruits, as well as violets and dog rose; the flavor is dry, velvety, robust with a possible streak of hazelnut, with a background of licorice and dried plums.
