The historic and perhaps most famous subzone of Valtellina Superiore stretches between the municipality of Castione Andevenno and the territory west of Sondrio, the provincial capital (114 hectares). An impassable but very sunny area whose name probably derives from that of the Marian shrine of the same name that stands on the scenic Sassella cliff.
Sassella Riserva wine is made only in the best vintages, from a careful selection of Nebbiolo grapes grown on the approximately 8 ha of our family's property.
A wine of great structure that after a 24-month passage in oak barrels manifests itself in all its elegance and complexity. Justly tannic, austere and with a persistent and varied finish.
