Production area: hilly areas of Pelago in the Chianti Rufina area. Clayey, marly and calcareous soils overlooking the Arno valley east of Florence.
Exposure : south.
Altitude : 200/350 m asl
Grapes : Merlot (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%).
Training system : spurred cordon.
Grape harvest : from mid-September to mid-October.
Vinification : fermentation of the grapes for 10 days in thermoregulated steel vats (28/30°C). Racking and then malolactic fermentation in steel. After fermentation, the wine passes into oak barriques.
Maturation : 18 months in barriques and then in the bottle.
Possibility of aging : 15/20 years.
Visual aspect : intense red with violet notes.
Bouquet : ripe cherry with the presence of blackberry and berries, with light hints of spices.
Taste : velvety consistency, pleasantly balanced and harmonic structure.
Accompaniments : tasty and elaborate dishes, grilled and braised meats.
